Two days at the only two Spanish restaurants named in Wine Spectator's Best Winery Restaurants 2026. At Ambivium, members ate from a tasting menu paired from one of the deepest cellars in the country. The journey continued to Abadía Retuerta, where dinner was served in the Refectorio, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the world, within the walls of a 12th century abbey. Rare bottles, a long dinner and good conversation. People are still talking about it.

A more unhurried affair, this late summer escape invited members to settle into the estate's beautiful private cottage and simply breathe, days spent by the infinity pool, gazing over the terraced slopes of the Douro Valley as it turned golden in the September light. The wine, though, was never far away. The highlight was an intimate private dinner with the winemaker, hosted on the terrace overlooking the vines of Vinha Maria, recently crowned Portugal's finest red wine by Tim Atkin MW. To taste that wine in the very place it is made, in conversation with the person who made it, as the sun dipped behind the vineyard, was a moment of pure, quiet privilege. A visit defined less by itinerary and more by feeling, relaxation, rare wine, and the gentle rhythm of the Douro.

A small dinner in London with Thomas Webb of Thelema, one of South Africa's most respected estates. Thomas poured his way through the range and talked about each vintage the way only someone who farms the vines can. Every wine came with its own course. Hearing a winemaker talk about his wines, across a table of fellow members, is really what Cuvée is about. We'll be doing it again.
